Corporate Social Responsibility – Why we should give a damn?

With all the negativity in the world at present, I take hope from the abundance of charitable work being done under the guise of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Many companies and individuals are doing their bit to help improve our society either through sustainable environmental efforts , ethical labour practices, philanthropy or volunteering. Progressive companies have embedded CSR into their work practices rather than just added as an afterthought. The CSR conscious consumer is now making buying decisions based on a company’s social performance. And for this reason alone, companies should pay attention.
